Diamond Promise Rings For the One You Love

Promise rings have been about for a number of centuries, dating back to the 16th century. Sometimes they are also known as friendship rings, depending on who it comes from. Since the 16th century however, things have changed somewhat. These type of rings used to be given from a man to a woman as a promise that they would one day get married. Usually finances would be the deciding factor.

For young couples these days who know that they have met their match, but just aren't quite ready to tie the knot, this type of ring is just the answer. For those who have a little extra to give, a diamond ring will go down well with a young lady. It's not the size of the diamond that counts on a ring, there'll be time for that when a proper proposal takes place.

Generally the designs of diamond promise rings include a heart, possibly two. The hearts can be joined on entwined with one another. The heart is obviously used a symbol of the love shared between the two people and the fact that the man's heart is promised to the lady. Some diamond rings have a 3 stone design, similar to a 3 stone engagement ring, but the stones themselves will be smaller. Not all promise rings have hearts in the design, but it may just be a very classic design. The ring itself being a circle, represents eternity that these two people plan to be together for.

There are slight changes in our society, and with them so have promise rings also evolved. There are times when a young lady wishes to give her heart to a young man. She buys him a man's ring, which he can either accept or decline.

A diamond promise ring is still given between young couples these days, but in these modern times anyone can give a promise ring to another person, as long it has meaning, regardless of people's financial status.
